Medical Director, Tele-Health Operations & Weight Loss Specialty (MD or DO)

About The Role

OpenLoop is looking for a Medical Director (MD or DO) to join our team in a remote capacity. This role will be a member of the clinical leadership team and report to our Chief Medical Officer (CMO).        

This critical team member will lead, and develop various areas of our clinical operations, including but not limited to managing our growing medical weight loss program(s), strengthening clinical quality metrics, and developing / mentoring medical providers in tele-health best practices.

You would qualify and should apply if you meet these key areas:

  • You are an M.D. or D.O. and meet the required board certifications & licensing as outlined below
  • You have years of tele-health experience
  • You have leadership experience in tele-health, specifically managing / coached other providers, within tele-health operations, and are familiar with tele-health best practices
  • You have weight-loss medicine experience

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Manage clinical aspects of various critical client relationships, and ensuring excellent tele-health procedures
  • Work alongside the CMO and existing Medical Director to develop and manage clinical protocols
  • Implement process improvement strategies towards and excellence.
  • Maximize the provider group’s clinical quality, productivity, and performance output alongside medical leadership,
  • Supervise and manage physicians within the provider group ensuring patient services are delivered effectively 
  • Work closely with all levels of stakeholders towards problem identification, solutions and resolution
  • Identify areas of process improvements and inefficiencies, building strategies towards improving them
  • Provide direct patient care, over an assigned percentage, providing safe, effective, and compassionate care via tele-medicine to patients across the country (based on licensure, for a wide variety of conditions).
  • Effectively communicate expectations, motivate individuals, foster collaboration between departments, and demonstrate a proven ability to provide positive and motivating leadership that supports teamwork
  • Other duties as assigned

Who You Are:

  • Licensed & board certified M.D. or D.O. is required in internal medicine, family medicine, or emergency medicine). 
    • License / board certified in one of these specialties is required
  • Active unrestricted medical license in 5-10 states within the United States is required
  • Five (5) years relevant Director experience is required, along with a minimum of three (3) years of managing medical providers in a U.S. health care system 
  • Extensive years of experience in virtual / tele-health is required
  • Prior experience in clinical protocol development / operational best practices and leading teams towards operational excellent, is required
  • Prior experience with medical weight loss/obesity care is required
    • American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) certification is not required, however years of experience within this specialty, as an MD or DO provider, is required.
  • Computer proficiency with systems such as Google Suite, Slack, Notion, Zoho, and multiple EMR systems 
  • Proven experience to adapt quickly to new technologies, such as software and operating systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player mentality with agility  to work across multiple teams, levels and stakeholders 
  • Capacity to shift and remain agile, as needed, in a rapidly growing startup environment 
  • Passionate, and empathetic leader that enjoys motivating and growing a successful team 
    • Bonus Points: Prior experience with other specialities, such as testosterone replacement therapy, hormone replacement therapy, functional/longevity/peptide medicine, remote patient monitoring, and chronic care management
