What A Year! OpenLoops 2021 In Review

Who is OpenLoop?

It’s been a wild 12 months for our scaling company, for our clients breaking into this fast-paced telehealth environment and for patients everywhere demanding expanded access to virtual care. We truly can’t believe how fast it went by with no signs of slowing in sight!

2021 was a huge year of growth for OpenLoop as we rose to meet the market’s demand for effective and user-friendly telemedicine services in all 50-states across a variety of specialties and patient concerns. We are so proud to highlight all we’ve accomplished since last January.

First and foremost, we’ll introduce ourselves quickly for those who haven’t met OpenLoop yet. We’re a white-label telehealth company powering virtual care in every state with full stack clinical operations and a vast network of certified clinicians. Our goal is to remove the roadblocks that come with launching and scaling telehealth services, so our clients can focus on serving more patients. This includes sharing our PC groups and MSO, staffing certified clinicians to support visits, setting up scheduling, payroll and even running credentialing.

Now that you know us, let’s get into what you came here for - our 2021 recap!

As you’ve likely witnessed, the demand for telehealth has continued to rise since COVID-19 surfaced in early 2020. Telemedicine was not only the safest option to treat patients while the pandemic raged on, but has since opened the eyes of providers and patients to the many benefits virtual care can offer long after. With the booming patient demand, companies everywhere are exploring ways to enter the telehealth space, including skilled nursing facilities, clinical trials, HRT & TRT and behavioral health to name a few.

To support this surge and deliver on our mission of powering healing anywhere, OpenLoop has been dedicated to enhancing our clinician and client portals this year. OpenLoop’s software allows our clients to seamlessly staff, schedule and scale their patient visits nationwide while making it easier for clinicians to apply for open shifts aligned to their specialties and interests. It’s a win / win for both parties! In fact, we launched our new and improved clinician portal this month with more exciting feature rollouts to come. Stay tuned!

The constant improvements to our tech stack and the value it brings to our clients and clinicians gained some major attention this year. In November, OpenLoop was named Startup Technology Company of the Year at the Technology Association of Iowa’s 2021 Prometheus Awards. We were also honored as a finalist for Software Technology Company of the Year.

Our dedication to serving our partners and enabling them to launch and scale their services has led to the signing of 25 new clients in 2021 across a variety of industries including fertility, mental health, primary care and diagnostic labs.

With the OpenLoop network hitting a whopping 6,500 clinicians and our active recruitment team working around the clock to expertly pair providers with clients, we were able to fill all open shifts for smooth patient visits. In fact, our clinicians successfully filled over 2,100 shifts for clients across the US this year. That translates into almost 20,000 patients seen!

As you would expect, our team has also grown to match client demand. In January of this year, we opened our headquarters office in downtown Des Moines, Iowa. At that time we had 4 full-time employees with a list of priority hires we wanted to make with our oversubscribed Seed Round funding of $3.1M.

Since then, our team has grown by an outstanding 925% to hit 37 experts currently. This growth has allowed us to increase headcount in all departments including licensing and credentialing, recruitment, sales, marketing, product, development and creating our customer success and account management teams!
