About the Role
OpenLoop is looking for a Head of
Legal Operations to join our team remotely or at HQ in Des Moines, IA.
In this strategic and hands-on role, you will be responsible for optimizing the
Legal department’s efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with business
objectives through the use of Ironclad, data-driven insights, and process
excellence.
As a senior member of the Legal Team, you will collaborate closely with
the General Counsel, executive leadership, and cross-functional partners across
Finance, Procurement, and Operations. The ideal candidate has extensive
experience implementing and scaling Ironclad across a growing organization,
leveraging the platform to drive automation, operational visibility, and
compliance. Experience working in a scaling technology company and integrating
processes across multiple entities is strongly preferred.
What
You'll Do
- Lead the full lifecycle implementation,
administration, and optimization of Ironclad, including system design, workflow
automation, template management, integrations, user enablement, and
post-implementation governance.
- Serve as the Ironclad subject
matter expert (SME) for the organization, ensuring the platform is fully
leveraged to improve contracting efficiency, visibility, and
compliance.
- Develop and execute scalable legal operations
strategies focused on process automation, risk mitigation, and operational
excellence.
- Implement and manage ticketing systems to streamline
legal intake, triage requests, and manage workload visibility and prioritization
across the Legal team.
- Partner with cross-functional
teams—including Legal, Finance, Procurement, and Technology—to ensure alignment,
transparency, and consistent communication across all legal operations
initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying
and executing on opportunities to enhance Ironclad’s performance and its
integration with other enterprise tools (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite,
Jira).
- Oversee and mentor team members supporting contracts
management, legal technology, and operational reporting.
- Provide advanced analytics and dashboards within Ironclad and other
reporting systems to inform data-driven decision-making at the executive
level.
- Partner with the General Counsel to manage departmental
budgets, forecast legal spend, and identify cost optimization
opportunities.
- Ensure that all legal processes, systems, and contracts
adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Other

Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Business,
Law, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 8+
years of in-house legal operations experience, with direct responsibility for
implementing and managing Ironclad as the organization’s primary contract
lifecycle management (CLM) platform.
- Demonstrated success in
enterprise-wide Ironclad adoption, including workflow optimization, data
integrity management, and system integrations with tools such as Salesforce,
NetSuite, and Jira.
- Proven experience implementing and managing
ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, Zendesk, ServiceNow) for legal request intake and
tracking.
- Experience working in a scaling technology company,
with exposure to growth-stage challenges, operational integrations, and
cross-entity alignment.
- Strong background in legal technology
strategy, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience working in a scaling technology company, with exposure to
integrations and post-merger alignment across multiple entities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills,
with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of
the organization.
- Deep understanding of contract law,
compliance frameworks, and risk management principles.
- Highly
analytical and proactive problem solver with a passion for operational
excellence and technology enablement.
