About the Role
OpenLoop is looking for
a Sr. Director of Workforce Management to join our team
remotely or at our HQ in Des Moines, IA. In this role, you will be responsible
for leading the strategic planning, modeling, and forecasting of our extensive
clinician workforce, which is largely 1099. This critical role will oversee
workforce analytics, cost optimization, and risk management for OpenLoop's
rapidly expanding network professionals. The individual will be responsible for
developing sophisticated predictive models that ensure optimal clinician supply,
cost efficiency, and operational excellence while supporting our ambitious
growth targets.
What
You'll Do
- Create multi-scenario workforce planning
models that optimize clinician availability, utilization rates, and geographic
distribution.
- Optimize the efficiency and output of a largely 1099
medical workforce through engagement, economics, training and so
forth
- Develop comprehensive cost models for clinician
compensation, benefits, licensing, credentialing, and operational expenses
across different employment models (W-2, 1099, partnerships).
- Analyze return on investment for different workforce strategies,
including internal hiring vs. contractor models, geographic expansion costs, and
specialty-specific investments.
- Assess and model risks related
to clinician shortages, regulatory changes, competitive market dynamics, and
economic factors.
- Ensure workforce planning models account
for state licensing requirements, credentialing timelines, and regulatory
compliance across all 50 states.
- Develop predictive models for
clinician and client turnover, identifying at-risk providers and implementing
retention strategies.
- Monitor and model risks from healthcare
labor market trends, including wage inflation, specialty shortages, and
competitive pressures.
- Partner with Clinical Operations, Finance,
Legal, and Corporate Development teams to align workforce strategy with business
objectives.
- Manage relationships with workforce technology vendors,
credentialing organizations, and external consulting partners.
- Other
duties as assigned.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business, or healthcare field (e.g.,
Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Healthcare Administration).
- 12+
years in workforce planning, operations strategy, or quantitative
modeling—preferably in healthcare or large-scale clinical
operations.
- 5+ years in senior leadership managing national or
multi-market workforce planning initiatives.
- Expertise in healthcare
workforce dynamics, clinician licensing/credentialing, and telehealth delivery
models.
- Proven track record leading analytics teams,
implementing predictive modeling, and driving data-driven decisions.
- Advanced skills in financial modeling, cost analysis, and budget
management.
- Strong project management and strategic planning
capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex
concepts to diverse audiences.
- Obsessed with delivering
