ATA Displays Gratitude for the Expansion of PHE Flexibilities

In July 2022, US Representatives Debbie Dingell (D-MI) and Liz Cheney (R-WY) sponsored a bipartisan bill intended to eliminate telehealth prerequisites determined by geography and provide a more widespread selection of originating sites for telehealth. The American Telemedicine Association (ATA) and ATA Action said although it contains many shared objectives, they want it to include other vital priorities as well.

House Overwhelmingly Passes Key Telehealth Extension Bill

The house passed the Advancing Telehealth Beyond COVID-19 Act late July 27th, that would extend key telehealth reimbursement flexibilities through 2024. It will now be sent to the senate for a vote. If signed into law, then key waivers that have been barriers to Medicare telehealth reimbursement will run through Dec. 2024.
