AstraZeneca Launches New Company to Share digital Clinical Trial Expertise with CROs, Pharmas

AstraZenica is launching Evinova, a new company that will allow CROs and fellow Big Pharmas to pay to access its tried-and-tested digital solutions for running clinical trials. Access to the platform will allow companies to deliver both traditional and decentralized or hybrid trials, including collecting data from connected medical devices in trial sites or from a patient’s home.

Routinely, musculoskeletal is among the most expensive types of care, and this company is trying to change that. Upswing Health, a virtual clinic for MSK/orthopedic problems, successfully lowered care costs by limiting unnecessary treatments or ER visits with their MSK-specific symptom assessment tool. The company is in the final stages of refining their assessment tool even further.

Senate Finance Committee Advanced the Better Mental Health Care, Lower-Cost Drugs, and Extenders Act

The advancement of this bill would require pharmacies to report cost for medication and data. It would also push for increased access to mental health care for children on Medicaid as well as Medicare patients in rural and underserved areas.

The online therapy company will provide free mental health services to more than 400,000 adolescents and teens in New York City through a partnership with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH). The three-year contract is inked at $26 million.
