OpenLoop is seeking an enterprising and creative Commercial Counsel to join our growing Legal team remotely or based in our HQ out of Des Moines, IA. As Product Counsel, you will provide teams across the company with practical legal advice supporting cross functional teams in regulatory compliance and contract redlining. You will get to work on interesting and novel issues that arise from the intersection of healthcare and technology.

About the Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Partner with our Product, Growth, and Marketing teams to provide legal support on category development, new and existing solutions, marketing and educational materials, and digital product design
• Identify privacy and regulatory issues and collaborate with the General Counsel to align on clear, actionable legal guidance
• Review customer-facing promotional content, including advertising, website content, social media posts, and product packaging, for compliance with legal and regulatory standards
• Provide practical, business-focused, solutions-oriented, clear, and concise legal guidance
• Develop relationships and build trust with business partners
• Stay informed on product developments, business objectives, and the ever-changing legal landscape affecting the business

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school - Required
• Active bar membership in at least one US jurisdiction
• Minimum 5 years of experience practicing law -AND- 3+ years being at a tele-health company
• Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
• Strong business judgment and creative mindset
• Experience advising on FDA-regulated products preferred
• Experience advising on intellectual property issues, such as trademarks and copyrights
• Working knowledge of US and state consumer privacy laws and healthcare privacy laws
• Experience in a start up environment is a plus
