About the Role
OpenLoop is looking for a Sales
Engineer to join our team remotely or at HQ in Des Moines, IA. In this
role, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between our health tech
products & systems, and client needs. You will design and deliver scalable
solutions, integrate with healthcare systems, and ensure seamless adoption of
our platforms. This role is highly client-facing — you’ll communicate system
capabilities, demo our products, and build care pathways that showcase how
OpenLoop technology powers modern care delivery.
What
You'll Do
- Partner with sales, product, and
implementation teams to understand client requirements and design technical
solutions.
- Lead product demos and presentations, clearly
explaining system capabilities to both technical and non-technical
stakeholders.
- Build and present care pathways and workflows that
illustrate how OpenLoop supports patient care and operational
efficiency.
- Scope, configure, and support integrations with EHRs,
telehealth platforms, scheduling, billing, and other healthcare IT systems
(FHIR, HL7, HIPAA-compliant APIs).
- Use tools like Zoho Flow, Zoho
Desk, Zoho CRM, Postman, Insomnia, Amazon Connect, Amazon SES, and Twilio to
design, test, and support client integrations.
- Collaborate with clients
during onboarding to configure workflows, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth
adoption.
- Provide technical guidance and serve as the escalation
point for customer support.
- Capture client insights and relay
structured feedback to the product and engineering teams to help shape the
roadmap.
- Contribute to the development of reusable solution
templates, documentation, and demo environments.
- Other

Who
You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,
Engineering, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field (or
equivalent practical experience).
- 1–3 years of experience in
sales engineering, implementation, technical consulting, or similar
client-facing technical roles.
- Comfortable using technical
tools like Zoho Flow, Zoho Desk, Zoho CRM, Postman, Insomnia, Twilio, Amazon
Connect, and Amazon SES required; bonus if you’ve also worked with Zapier, n8n,
HubSpot, Salesforce, Zendesk, SendGrid, or AWS Lambda.
- Experienced in health tech, SaaS, or B2B software as a Solutions
Engineer, Implementation Consultant, or Technical Account Manager.
- Skilled in API integrations (REST, JSON, OAuth) and familiar with EHR/EMR
standards (FHIR, HL7, SMART on FHIR).
- Strong communicator who can
confidently demo products, present workflows, and explain system capabilities to
both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Able to translate
clinical/operational needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, adaptable, collaborative,
and willing to wear multiple hats.
