FTC Votes To Ban Noncompetes, With Far-Reaching Effects On Doctors
In a 3-2 vote, the Federal Trade Commissioners voted to ban non-compete agreements at the end of April 2024. This ban will have far-reaching effects on the healthcare field that often relies on non-competes. According to the FTC’s Bureau of Economics, the final rule would lower healthcare costs by $194 billion over the next decade.The new ban won’t be met without challenge though. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce plans to sue over the ruling.
