FTC Votes To Ban Noncompetes, With Far-Reaching Effects On Doctors

In a 3-2 vote, the Federal Trade Commissioners voted to ban non-compete agreements at the end of April 2024. This ban will have far-reaching effects on the healthcare field that often relies on non-competes. According to the FTC’s Bureau of Economics, the final rule would lower healthcare costs by $194 billion over the next decade.The new ban won’t be met without challenge though. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce plans to sue over the ruling.

The Joint Commission unveils new telehealth accreditation program

The accreditation agency will be rolling out new accreditation standards for telehealth delivery. The new program will go into effect July 1, 2024.
